Top Driver's in-vehicle training is where teens learn the real world application of Driver Intelligence. The goal is to create and develop an atmosphere where each student is truly in control of the vehicle, rather than simply being a "steering passenger." To do this, Top Driver's in-vehicle training includes:
- DVD training: Top Driver's unique use of DVD instruction inside the vehicle to visually reinforce safe driving skills and practices. A student can "see" a particular skill and then "do" it.
- Commentary Driving: An advanced cognitive technique where students must verbally communicate exactly what they are seeing, thinking and doing while behind the wheel
- On-Road Coaching Guide: On-going assessments that provide written feedback to students and parents on a student’s progress after each driving lesson. This encourages active parent involvement and guides parents for practice sessions with their teen.
Complete Training
Most driving schools still use "piggy-back" driving lessons where one student drives to the next student's home and is driven back. This compromises the in-vehicle lesson such that up to 50% of a lesson's time is spent on transporting students. Top Driver does not take such short cuts. Every in-vehicle lesson is entirely devoted to training, not to transportation.
